[Principal’s message] Dream a new dream

It has been an atypical summer for us all. In spite of the difficulties we have faced, the Lord’s love for us remains steadfast and unchanging as James 1:17 tells us, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” I am grateful that both our teachers and students are back on campus, raring to go for the new school year.

The year of 2019/2020 marks not only a new beginning, but also new challenges for me. When I assumed the position of Principal in CCC Kwei Wah Shan College, under God’s guidance, I got butterflies in my stomach. But my anxiety disappeared when I realized that everyone here got along well and was eager to help. The teachers are strict but caring, and the students welcoming and polite. This is what makes our school a safe and loving learning environment where students can grow steadily.

I would like to thank my predecessors for their hard work and great efforts nurturing our students, as well as their tremendous contributions to the development of our school over the past forty years, bonding all the students, teachers and parents in a strong sense of belonging.

The famous Christian author C.S. Lewis once said, “A person is never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream.” This saying holds true for the school and every Wahshanian. I hope everyone sets goals for their learning and personal growth in this new academic year. Let’s stand firm in our faith, build on our strengths, and meet our challenges with courage and determination. Success is within our reach.

We shall go all out, not letting the gifts bestowed on us go to waste, and spur one another on.
